Introducing GoodWine!

GoodWine is a project by Miki Smith, an entrepreneur and wine educator who saw a gap in the wine world that needed to be filled. Miki believes that wine represents an opportunity to make choices that are good for the planet and for people, too.

In 2021, she launched a business to create a way for people to buy wines that are getting better and better for all of us: GoodWine. With GoodWine, Miki highlights winemakers that are moving in the direction of planet-friendly farming methods, work to minimize their carbon footprint, and healthier working conditions. And we can help them get there! 

On the GoodWine site, you’ll find information about delicious GoodWines as well as stories from growers, makers, importers, distributors, shippers, and workers and the issues they’re grappling with as they try to make wine sustainable.

You’ll also find information about our very first wine club—exclusive to Virginia, D.C., and Maryland for now—at UnWined in Alexandria, Virginia! If you live locally, be sure to sign up or grab a gift subscription. And in the near future, we’ll look to ship wine directly to you so you can be a part of the movement toward a better wine world, too!
